Have you ever thought about how your life would be different if you were born to different parents or in a different country? The family we are born into, the place we are born, even the moment in time that we arrive on this earth have an impact on us and help to shape our lives. Sometimes we are given advantages, sometimes disadvantages. If you were born in the United States, for example, you already have some advantages over a person born in Mozambique. Understanding those advantages and disadvantages can help us be more aware of others around us and around the world. We can use our advantages to help others who have not been so lucky or blessed. In this unit, you'll work hard and make a positive impact on someone's life and community through microfinance. You just might change the world!
